Hello and welcome to North East Middle School!

My name is Chrissy Kern, and I am proud to serve as the school counselor for grades 6–8. Middle school is an exciting and sometimes challenging time as students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. My role is to support both students and families throughout this important stage of development.  As your school counselor, I focus on four key areas, including:

  • Academic Support – Helping students develop study skills, organization strategies, and goal-setting habits to be successful in the classroom.

  • Social & Emotional Growth – Providing a safe space to talk through challenges, build resilience, and strengthen positive peer relationships.

  • Career & Future Readiness – Introducing students to career awareness, interests, and strengths, and helping them connect today’s learning to their future possibilities.

  • Family & School Connection – Partnering with families to foster open communication, provide resources, and collaborate to meet student needs.

Students may see me in the classroom, in small groups, or individually. I am here to listen, encourage, and help students build the skills they need to navigate middle school and beyond with confidence.

I encourage families to reach out if you have questions, concerns, or simply want to connect. Together, we can ensure that every child feels supported, valued, and prepared for the future.

Warmly,

Ms. Chrissy Kern
